Daniel has 26 (twenty-six) years´ experience as a lawyer and tax and business consultant, providing advice and working in administrative and judicial litigation for large and medium-sized businesses established in Brazil and abroad, with focus on indirect taxation. He was a partner at one of the biggest law firms in Europe as well as PwC, where he was in charge of the indirect taxation practice of the Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte units.
He often works on tax planning, M&A, revisions of tax procedures, tax consultancy on financial statement auditing projects and administrative litigation, and the clients he works for are mainly concentrated in the telecommunications, retail, mining, steel, oil and energy fields.
Daniel Graduated in Law from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), he is a PhD candidate in Constitutional and Procedural Tax Law at Pontificia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), a Master in International Law from Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV/RJ).
He is Director and member of Associação Brasileira de Direito Financeiro (ABDF).
He has extensive experience in the academic field, teaching postgraduate courses in Tax Law at PUC-Rio, IBMEC/RJ and CEDIN, and has published several texts, articles and technical books in the area.
